SEOUL, South Korea – 26 Oct, 2016 – I-ON Communications Co., Ltd., a leading unstructured data management solution and service provider based in South Korea and GridDuck, a UK based SmartGrid solution provider signed LOI to go to global DR (Demand Response) market together.

Through this agreement I-ON and GridDuck are to push forward a project that supports hardware and software cross-platform for UK’s frequency management DR market by providing a UPS battery load test, an automated Demand Response test and an automated controlling of small-scale distributed resources. They also expect to apply for EU-funded joint R&D programs such as H2020 in the near future.

More than 50% of DR resources in Korea are currently managed by I-ON’s own solutions and services and based on these experiences and knowledge it has entered into Thailand market as well. Furthermore, in collaboration with 5 organizations including Gachon University and 4 more universities in UK, I-ON is conducting development of prediction and control technologies for prosumer load, transaction management.
