SEOUL, South Korea – 27 June, 2016 – I-ON Communications Co., Ltd. (www.i-on.net/eng ), a leading solutions and services provider of enterprise-level unstructured data management with 1,000+ customers globally, today announced that it has signed MoU with Honam University (http://www.honam.ac.kr/) to cultivate professional manpower in an energy IoT sector and collaborate on the related technology research & development.

 

Honam Univ. has been seeking for a system that can provide DR(Demand Response) education to cultivate professional manpower and activate local business in energy IoT industry under a project ‘Energy IoT Industrial Ecosystem Creation’ led by itself. After thorough review it has decided to adopt I-ON LAMS (Load Aggregator’s Management System) as its educational software since it believed the system meets the criteria such as software reliability, proven R&D capabilities and system maintenance capabilities.

 

I-ON has a Korea’s first OpenADR certified SmartGrid solution and its DRMS (Demand Response Management Solution) and LAMS (Load Aggregator’s Management System) have been deployed in DR business both in local and abroad. These solutions have become mandatory for DR business providers to maximize their profit. OpenADR (http://www.openadr.org/) is an open and standardized way for electricity providers and system operators to communicate DR signals with each other and with their customers using a common language over any existing IP-based communications network, such as the Internet.

 

Both parties will commit to participate in the project with regard to cultivation of professionals and the national project in the energy IoT sector. Honam Univ. and I-ON will also proceed training course for undergraduates and employees under industry-academic cooperation. I-ON is providing the Univ. a complimentary educational DR system for the course as well.
